1949年 大阪府に生まれ。1972年 関西大学文学部卒業、同大学院修士課程修了。現在、大阪府吹田市立博物館主幹。文学博士（関西大学）。
著書に『千里古窯跡群』『須恵器集成図録第二巻』『博物館概説（関西大学）』（いずれも共著）。主要論文として、「木炭窯をめぐって」（河内長野大師山）、「須恵器からみた古墳時代葬制の変遷とその意義」（末永雅雄先生米寿記念献呈論文集）、「桓武朝をめぐる造瓦事情についての一試考」（網干善教先生華甲記念考古学論集）、「須恵器生産の展開」（新版　古代の日本第五巻・近畿・）、「瓦窯構造からみた焼成技術とその編遷」（楢崎彰一先生古希記念論文集）、「窯構造からみた須恵器の伝来」（堅田直先生古希記念論文集）、「初期煉瓦と煉瓦窯」（瓦衣千年―森郁夫先生還暦記念論文集）など多数。

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1949, Fujiwara graduated from the Faculty of Letters at Kansai University in 1972 before receiving both a master's degree and a doctorate from the University's graduate school. He currently serves as an executive of the Suita City Museum in Osaka Prefecture.
