1955年 東京生まれ。1979年 東京芸術大学デザイン科卒業、1981年 同大学院終了。株式会社電通を経て、1984年 佐藤卓デザイン事務所設立。以降、「ニッカ・ピュアモルト」の商品開発から始まり、「ロッテ・ミントガムシリーズ」「ロッテ・キシリトールガム」「大正製薬・ゼナ」「明治おいしい牛乳」等のVisual Identityデザインを手掛け、NHK教育「にほんごであそぼ」の企画メンバー及びアートディレクション、大量生産品をデザインの視点で解剖する「デザインの解剖」プロジェクトなどを手掛ける。
主な受賞として東京ADC賞、毎日デザイン賞、JAGDA新人賞、東京TDC銅賞、ニューヨークADC銀賞、日本パッケージデザイン大賞金賞、Gマーク金賞、デザインフォーラム金賞、東京ADC・原弘賞等。著書に「SKELETON」（六耀社）、「デザインの解剖(1)＝ロッテ・キシリトールガム」（美術出版社）、「デザインの解剖(2)＝フジフイルム・写ルンです」（美術出版社）、「デザインの解剖(3)＝タカラ・リカちゃん」（美術出版社）、「デザインの解剖(4)＝明治乳業・おいしい牛乳」（美術出版社）など。

Born in Tokyo in 1955, Satoh graduated from the Department of Design of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1979 and from the same school's graduate program in 1981. After working for Dentsu, Inc., Satoh established the Taku Satoh Design Office in 1984.
After taking on the product design for Nikka Pure Malt Whiskey, Satoh has worked on
Visual Identity projects for products such as the Lotte Mint Gum series, Lotte Xylitol Gum, Taisho Pharmaceuticals' Zena energy drink and Meiji Oishii Gyunyu milk. He has been involved in the planning and art direction for NHK's Nihonogo de asobo (Let's Play With Japanese) television series and leads the Dezain no kaibo (Anatomy of Design) project, which dissects mass-market consumer items from a design perspective.
