1953年 長野県生まれ。1979年のEvent by Snow Field（小諸、長野）を皮切りに、精力的な活動を展開。個展開催から国内・世界各国での展覧会出展など、幅広く活躍している。1994年より東京芸術大学助教授。
主な受賞作品として、1980年 今日のアジアの美術＜グランプリ受賞＞（香港アートセンター、香港）、1981年 全国大学版画展＜買い上げ賞受賞＞（東京）、1987年 第3回モーベイジュ国際彫刻展＜買い上げ賞受賞＞（フランス）。
主な出展として、1986年 台北現代美術館(台北)での日本現代美術展、1989年 Heineken Village（東京）でのJapanese Contemporary Art in the 80's-90年代へのプロローグ、横浜アートギャラリーでの野外環境彫刻'89 The 1st International Art Exhibition in Yokohama、1990年 アイントフォーヘン(オランダ)での「Installaties」Het Appolohuis、ライデン(オランダ)でのリサーチC.Oプロジェクト、1993年 バリ(インドネシア)でのM't GUN project、1997年 ソウル国立現代美術館での日本現代美術展、1998年 福健州市立美術館(中国)での環太平洋現代美術展、1999年 デュッセルドルフ市立美術館(ドイツ)での日独交流現代美術展。
出生地長野県においては、1987年 小布施町で開催された小布施系にて作品を披露。また、北御牧村芸術村公園の「結いの高欄道」は1992年度日本建築美術工芸協会賞に輝いた環境芸術作品であり、公園のシンボルとして訪れる人々を魅了している。

Born in Nagano Prefecture, 1953. He has started his career with the Event by Snow Field (Komoro, Japan) held in 1979, and has energetically developed his work ever since. His works have been exhibited in Japan and many countries all over the world. In 1994, he became an Assistant Professor at Tokyo Art University.
His price winning works include: Art of Today's Asia "Grand Priz" from Hong Kong Art Center in 1980, all university (Japan) art print display "Bid Prize" in 1981, and a "Bid Prize" at the 1987 Third International Mobeiju Sculpture Exhibit in France.
His main exhibits include: "Modern Japanese Art" shown at the Taipei Museum of Modern Art in 1986, "Japanese Contemporary Art in the 80's- a prologue into the 90's" in 1989 at the Heineken Village (Tokyo), "Outdoor Sculpture'89 "the First International Art Exhibition in Yokohama" at Yokohama Art Gallery, in 1990 two exhibits in Holland - "Installaties: Het Appolohuisﾓ and "Research C.O Project," "M't GUN project" in Bali in 1993, "Modern Japanese Art Exhibit" hosted by the Seoul National Modern Art Museum in 1997, "Modern Pacific Art Exhibit" held by the Fujian Municipal Art Gallery (China) in 1998, and the "Japanese-German Modern Art Exchange" at the Duseldorf Municipal Art Museum in 1999.
In his own Nagano Prefecture, he exhibited a project at Obuse's "Obusekei" in 1987. In 1992, his Environmental Art Design display shone at the Japanese Architecture and Art show at the Kita-Ｍimaki art village park. Chosen as the park symbol, it still fascinates the park visitors today.
