1946 年 神戸市生まれ。武蔵野美術大学卒業。現在、武蔵野美術大学教授 近代デザイン史専攻。デザイン評論家。
視覚的なデザインやもの空間のデザインを通して、近代の思考や感覚を読み解く作業を続けている。また、電子テクノロジーがどんな生活環境を生み出そうとしているか興味を持って見ている。

Born in Kobe in 1946, Kashiwagi majored in modern design history at Musashino Art University, where he now teaches. In his work as a critic he seeks to interpret modern thought and sensibility through visual and spatial design and is an interested observer of how living environments are created by electronic technologies.
