1937年 東京生まれ。1960年 東京大学工学部建築学科卒業。1965年 ペンシルヴェニア大学美術学部大学院修了(M.Arch)。1968年 九州芸術工科大学助教授。1971年 東京大学助教授、香山アトリエ（環境造形研究所）設立。1975年〜76年 イェール大学美術史学科客員研究員。1982年 ペンシルヴェニア大学客員教授。1986年〜97年 東京大学教授。1997年 東京大学名誉教授、明治大学理工学部教授。1999年 ペンシルヴェニア大学客員教授。2002年 放送大学教授。現在 放送大学客員教授・工学博士。

[Profile]
Born in Tokyo in 1937. Graduated from the Tokyo University Architecture department in the School of Engineering in 1960. In 1965 received his Master’s degree (M.Arch) from the Pennsylvania University School of Art. In 1971 worked as an Assistant Professor at Tokyo University and founded Koyama Atelier (Environmental Construction Laboratory). Worked as a visiting researcher in the Yale Art History department from 1975-76. Visiting professor at Pennsylvania University in 1982. Professor at Tokyo University from 1986-97. In 1997 became a Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University and a professor in the College of Science and Engineering at Meiji University. Visiting professor at Pennsylvania University in 1999. Became a professor at The University of the Air in 2002. Currently a professor and Doctor of Engineering working at The University of the Air.
