[プロフィール]
花人。 1948年京都生まれ。 幼少より池坊の花道を学ぶ。 日本大学芸術学部を卒業後、パリ大学へ留学。 演劇、映画を研究するかたわらヨーロッパ各地を巡る。 74年に帰国後は流派に属さず、いけばなの原型である「たてはな」と、千利休が大成した自由な花「なげいれ」をもとに、花によって「日本の肖像」を描くという独自の創作活動を続ける。

著書に『花会記』、『Inspired Flower Arrangements』、『今様花伝書』、『四季の花手帖T・U』、『川瀬敏郎 花に習う』などがある。
現在、『芸術新潮』誌上に、自身の花の原点を問う「たてはな神話」を連載中。

[Profile]
Flower artist. Born in Kyoto in 1948. Studied flower arrangement at Ikenobo from a young age. After graduating from the school of art at Nihon University he studied abroad at the University of Paris. He traveled all throughout Europe while studying theater and film. Since returning to Japan in 1974, without conforming to any particular style, he has continued to use flowers to make "Portraits of Japan," his unique creative project based on "tatehana," the original style of flower arrangement, and the free "nageire" flower style made famous by Sen no Rikyu.

Publications include "Hana Kaiki",”Inspired Flower Arrangements", "Secrets of Modern Flowers","Notebook of flowers from the four seasons T-U", "Learn from Flowers".
He is currently serializing "Myth of Tatehana," questioning the origins of his own flower technique, in the magazine "Geijutsu Shincho."
